My character, Kim, is a nerdy freshman in college, and a fierce friend who is struggling with her past.</p> <p> <p><b>What did you draw upon to bring your character to life, and how much Francesca Xuereb can we actually find in Kim?</b><p> <p> When creating the character of Kim I definitely drew upon my relationship with my childhood best friend, and the lengths I would go for her.<p> <p><b>How did you get involved with the project in the first place, and what drew you to it?</b><p> <p> I got involved with the project through a professor I had at LMU. I actually had to decide between doing <b><a href="../movies/room203(2022).shtml">Room 203</a></b> and another film, and ultimately what made me choose it was the team attached. I was super exciting to sign on after seeing the director Ben Jagger and the cinematographer Joel Froome’s work. I was impressed, and knew I would be in good hands.<p> </p> <table border="0" cellspacing="0" width="255" align="left"> <tr> <td width="100%"><img border="0" src="../stills/room203-1.jpg" width="250" height="370"></td> </tr> </table> <p><b>To what extent could you identify with </b><b><i><a href="../movies/room203(2022).shtml">Room 203</a></i>'s approach to horror, and is horror a genre you're at all fond of in general?</b><p> <p> I love horror, It’s one of my favorite genres. I’m a huge fan of classic slashers, something with a little comedy as well is my jam. But yeah, just love em, I used to watch horror movies late at night, all alone, just scaring the bejeezus out of myself.<p> <p><b>Do talk about </b><b><i><a href="../movies/room203(2022).shtml">Room 203</a></i>'s director Ben Jagger, and what was your collaboration like?</b><p> <p> Ben was so great to collaborate with, we talked a bit before we started about what works best for me in the moment, and he was always willing to work through things as much as possible even when we were on a tight schedule.<p> <p><b>A few words about the shoot as such, and the on-set atmosphere?</b><p> <p> The shoot was unforgettable, the <b><a href="../movies/room203(2022).shtml">Room 203</a></b> cast and crew was so close, and I’ve never experienced anything like that before or after. We were working during the pandemic, and we had 19 days to make a feature, and despite all of that we were always in high spirits spending all of our downtime together. Also, during the shoot we were being haunted. The producers found a dead body on set a few days before starting shooting, and we had so much paranormal activity going on behind the scenes which only brought us all closer together.<p> <p><b>Any future projects you'd like to share?</b><p> <p> The only thing I can share right now is I have another horror movie directed by Mark Polish coming out hopefully early this summer.<p> <p><b>What got you into acting in the first place, and did you receive any formal education on the subject?</b><p> <p> I always loved acting. I did community theater when I was kid, I loved it but the theater shut down and I fell off. It wasn’t until college, about half way through, I realized I just had to try and do it. So I transferred and studied theater at LMU (Loyola Marymount University), and I just graduated during the pandemic.<p> </p> <table border="0" cellspacing="0" width="455" align="left"> <tr> <td width="100%"><img border="0" src="../stills/room203-3.jpg" width="450" height="223"></td> </tr> </table> <p><b>What can you tell us about your filmwork prior to <a href="../movies/room203(2022).shtml"><i>Room 203</i></a>? </b><p> <p> Prior to shooting <b><a href="../movies/room203(2022).shtml">Room 203</a></b>, I had only done one other project. Since <b><a href="../movies/room203(2022).shtml">Room 203</a></b>, I’ve been fortunate enough to have a fun parts in <i><b> Sex Lives of College Girls</b></i>, <i><b> Seal Team</b></i>, and <i><b> Pam and Tommy</b></i>.<p> <p><b>How would you describe yourself as an actress, and some of your techniques to bring your characters to life?</b><p> <p> I don’t know, I like to do research, and text work. I read the script as many times as I can, and use a lot of snippets from different techniques to prepare, but when I’m actually doing the work I like to just let go of it all and focus on being present.<p> <p><b>Actresses (and indeed actors) who inspire you?</b><p>  <p> Some actors that inspire me are, well, Meryl Streep, obviously. Jessica Lange, Viola Davis, Tim Curry, and Reese Witherspoon.
