Your upcoming The Best There Ever Was - in a few words, what
is it about?
It is based on the grandpa that was in the original Texas
Chainsaw Massacre, but he is much younger and he is teaching a young Bubba Sawyer
how to protect the family from outsiders and how to prep them as food.
With The Best There Ever Was being a
prequel to the original Texas
Chainsaw Massacre - how closely connected will it be to that
movie, and what drove you to make a prequel to it in the first place?
I
have not made this prequel. It is something I want to make. The script is
drafted but I do not own the rights to the Texas Chainsaw franchise
so I am using the trailer that I made in my grange with the help of
Stephen Twardokus and Jon Gale to help give a visual of what I want to do.
I have been wanting to make this prequel since I saw the original when I
was 12. The title of the movie is The Best There Ever Was because that is
what the characters called grandpa as they introduced him in the movie.
Other
sources of inspiration for The Best There Ever Was? Just
the grandpa from the original.
What
can you tell us about the intended look and feel of your film? The
look I would give it is dark and gritty of course with high contrast to
really make the shadows dark. How
far do you intend to go when it comes to violence and gore? I
would like to do it all the way without seeing the gore for more than a
second. I like practical effects but they are only good when you don't
show them for more than a second and let the imagination fill in the rest.

What
can you tell us about your intended key cast, and why exactly these people? There
is no key cast. It was made with friends as this is just a promo trailer. As
far as I know, the film is presently still in pre-production - so what's
the schedule, and any idea when and where the film will be released onto
the general public yet?
Just a promo trailer. It's still in
the pitching state. Any future projects beyond The
Best There Ever Was? Next year The Woods, and there will be 2 more promotion trailers to get pitches set up and a
webseries by the end of this year. Your/your movie's website,
Facebook, whatever else?

Anything else you are dying to
mention and I have merely forgotten to ask? Not that I can
think of. Thanks for
the interview!
