First of all, why don't you introduce yourself to all of our readers unfortunate enough to not already know you?

Kelly Thompson, actress, writer, director, producer, singer.

Do talk about some current and future projects of yours!

I am working on a new movie, Violet's Prey.

According to my information, you first entered the filmworld as an actress - so what made you want to become an actress in the first place, and did you receive any formal training on the subject?

I've always done it since I was a kid. 

What can you tell us about some of your early acting gigs, and how do you feel you did grow as an actress over the years?

I started with stage shows, and progressed. I believe in always continuing to learn new things. Become uncomfortable and beat what you think can’t be done.

What made you branch out into writing, producing and directing eventually?

The writing I always did. I got in trouble as a child for using the word passion in a story. That shows how long I've written. Directing seemed the next logical step. 

Do talk about your past filmwork, in whatever position?

I acted in several movies. I created 5. My first was Assignment: Witches Talisman, then I made a sequel A2: The Anomaly. One By One was a murder mystery. 6Stringz was something I had been encouraged to do because of the musicals I was in and my background. Lefty Lucy was an idea I came up with for a what if this happened scenario. Adventures in Babysitting inspired the idea. Some girl having a bad night. Every idea I come up with is different in its own way. I enjoy keeping people surprised.

What can you tell us about your approach to acting, to writing and to directing, and how do these three jobs cross-seminate one another?

It's tricky to do all three at the same time. It's usually why I have a second person helping me. You can definitely tell I have a certain style and dedicated crew.

Doing all this jobs in front of and behind the camera, which do you enjoy the most, which could you do without?

I love the acting.  I could do without ever having to edit.

Julia Roberts, Jodie Foster, Sandra Bullock, Julie Andrews, Carol Burnette, Betty White, Drew Barrymore, Dolly Parton, Tim Burton, John Waters, Stevphen King, Quentin Tarantino, Mel Brooks, John Hughes, Monty Python, Sheryl Crow, and Alanis Morsette. 

Your favourite movies?

Grease, Masters Of The Universe, Uncle Buck, Sweeney Todd, Pet Cemetary, Gone With The Wind, Something To Talk About, Ginger Snaps, The Wedding Singer, Cry Baby, The Little Mermaid, Fried Green Tamatoes, Steel Magnolios.

... and of course, films you deplore?

Grease 2, The Butterfly Effect 2, Final Destination 5, Batman and Robin.
