All contacts to a top secret gouvernment research facility somewhere in
the middle of nowhere have been broken off, so a quartet of Navy Seals -
team leader Chris (David Meadows), his hothead brother Mike (Clayton
Snyder), Jonesy (Daniel Washington) and Thorpe (Scott C. Roe) - are sent
in to investigate. Once at the site, they find the place completely empty,
but plenty of heaps of ash, and security cam footage shows all scientists
on site were actually burnt to crisp in an instant without warning. They
also find the "thing" investigated at the site, a sort of alien
box, and they find a sole survivor, Isabella (Larissa Andrade), who was in
a Faraday cage when apparently everybody else was electrocuted, and whose
scientific knowledge might help our heroes understand what's going on. And
they need to find out fast, as presently the site is being attacked by
aliens, and not just any aliens but aliens with superior weapon and
defense technology. And they're intent on getting the box back. But our
heroes find out that the aliens see only electrical waves, so one can
sneak by them wearing a static suit, and thank God there's one in the lab,
and likewise, turning on electric devices can draw the aliens. So that's
all good for tactical maneuvres, but unfortunately our humans are still
outnumbered and outgunned, so the only thing that might save them is to
find out what the aliens actually want ... There's actually
little of interest in this movie, a low budget sci-fi action flick high on
testosterone, low on story, with only some clichéed sibling rivalry
putting some meat on the bones, and frankly the action's just not all that
great. That's not to say the film's a trainwreck, there are worse ways to
kill 90 or so minutes, the film just shows nothing you haven't seen
before, and probably better.
