A sextet of students (Eric Fischer, Brianna Lee Johnson, Brick Patrick,
Marina Lyon, Katharine Brandt, Josh Schell) go to the country for a bit of
partying in the house of an uncle of one of them. Soon enough, they are
joined by 11-year old Corey (Corey Reilly), a local boy who has just
escaped his drunk babysitter. They're all having fun ... until one of them
(Josh Schell) drops dead on the spot, shot by a sniper. The others realize
he has picked all of them for target practice pretty soon, and they only
just make it to the house to lock themselves in - and realize the phone's
out of order, their cellphones are gone, and the weapons they have found
in the house are out of ammonition ... and the sniper, a masked man, is
still waiting outside, reminding them of his presence every now and again
via some carefully placed shots. Eventually, he even makes it into the
house, killing two more of them (Katharine Brandt, Marina Lyon) and
gassing the rest ...

clichéed slasher that just misses a few too many opportunities.
Especially the killer couple, a very ordinary mom and dad who do all of
this to keep their romance alive, are not really integrated into the plot,
they are just revealed to be who they are at some random point in the
story without being properly introduced previously, which is a shame
because the two of them could have been full of macabre subplots and the
like. Instead it seems the leads and scriptwriters Eric Fischer and
Brianna Lee Johnson have written the film according to their needs, giving
their own characters center stage and making them heroic as can be - now
it's not that tthe two of them do a bad job at portraying their
characters, it's just that these characters are rather bland and
uninteresting, and their problems prior to the sniper attack hardly exceed
soap opera quality. You know what's a shame: This could have been good
would ht ekillers have gotten center stage - but as it is it's ... well,
it isn't a disaster by any definition of the word, it's just standard
genre fare.
