Apparently, drug kingpin Blanco (Rico E. Anderson) needs eliminating,
which is why Miranda (Marina Sirtis), head of a secret and shady
gouvernment organisation, calls her second in command Pete (Robert
Picardo) to take care of things, and he sends his top trainee Kaylee
(Tarah Paige) to do the job. Now Kaylee sure is enthusiastic, has no moral
implications that might stand in her way, she's fit as can be and
perfectly capable to handle whatever might stand in her way. There's just
one problem, she's always more than likely to do things her own way, and
that's what's bound to get her into trouble every now and again - like
with this job ... The Assassin's Apprentice is, above
all else, a really fun movie. Basically, the film pushes from one
highlight to the next, its centerpiece being a long chase that might
somehow lack in urgency but works thanks to its light-footed, almost
self-ironic approach, as does the finalethat manages to defy audience
expectations without seeming forced. And add to that some solid
performances, and you've got a really entertaining genre piece.
