Jade (Kelsey Zukowski) just loves bacon, there's nothing that turns her
on more than sizzling bacon in a pan - it's better than sex for her. Now
that might not particularly troubling, but her obsession goes a bit too
far: At times, she bathes in bacon, she eats bacon while having sex with
her boyfriend (Willy Adkins), who dumps her accordingly, and she loses her
job and her home because of bacon and flunks college. Now with her new
boyfriend Jackson (Jason Sullivan), she tries to keep her urges under
control ... but that doesn't work very long, and eventually, he and Jade's
former roommate Aubrey (Tina Renée Grace) tie her up to keep her
baconless in order to take control of her addiction - but Jade starts to
suffer from withdrawal symptoms almost immediately. And on top of this,
even all tied up she hasn't run out of ideas ... Even
though Bacon - The Movie is played all straight, it's actually a
hilarious little film - and quite probably because everyone plays it
straight, which works very well as the premise is just too outrageous,
expecially when paired with the clichéed situations Jade is thrown into
and the often intentionally stilted dialogue - and the actors are doing a
really good job, too, as does the direction, always teasing but then
shying away from going fully grotesque and just playing it for the laughs.
A really fun one. By the way, according to my information, Bacon
will be served on DVD in 2016 - sorry for the pun, the director forced it
onto me ;)
