Paul (Raine McCormack) is driving through the countryside when his car
breaks down - pretty much in the middle of nowhere, so Paul walks miles
upon miles, until he happens upon ... of all things another stranded car -
or so it seems, because inside there's a dead woman (Alexxa Charles), and
apparently two psychopaths (Andrew Calverley, Jason Rhodes) are lurking
outside. Fortunately, Paul makes it into the car just in time to escape
the psychopaths - but the dead woman isn't dead at all, but quite insane.
Is that the comeuppance for the way Paul treated his wife (Helen Ball)? Shot
in 3D, Black Spot are basically 6 minutes of grindhouse-style
terror cinema. The dialogue-less story might not have much depth to it,
but it moves along very swiftly, with all the shocks in the right places,
plenty of suspense but also its fair share of weirdness. And the movie's
short enough not to outstay its welcome but keep one entertained. In
all, great genre fun.
