For centuries, angels and vampires have been at war now, and while
angels were initially only created to hunt down and destroy the vampires,
the table has turned over time, and now the vampires have almost
annihilated the angels, and violently so. Ava (Grace Huang) is neither
angel nor vampire, but her sisters are angels, and they've gone missing in
action. Armed to the teeth, she follows the trail of her sisters, to end
up in a surreal room in which the dead angels' wings are on display, and a
lab where angels are routinely taken apart by the vampires' head scientist
Finn Rose (Kirt Kishita). Overcome by rage, Ava attacks Finn - but his
lightning speed reflexes and absolutely ruthlessness might be more than
Ava can handle ...
Short and focused on the visuals of its
story (without glossing over the narrative's emotional impact though), Bloodtraffick
is above all else - fun: Basically, the film is a collection of beautiful
images held together by a refreshingly skeletal story that culminates in a
hard-hitting (and well-staged and -paced) action sequence - in other
words, great genre entertainment! Recommended!
