Two hitmen, husband to be Darlin (Erik Searle) and wannabe Mr supercool
English (Wesley Green), are supposed to take out a couple of witnesses,
make their bodies disappear, and then get out of the picture - in other
words, nothing they haven't done before ... but this time it's different,
as Darlin's fiancée is calling him all five minutes with wedding-stuff
while English is trying painfully hard to come up with cool oneliners to
accompany his kills ... and then they stumble across a colleague of theirs
(Ben Ruch) who has taken to cannibalism only very recently, which makes
the location of their latest murder a right mess, they accidently shoot a
hooker, and their boss tells them "You're fucked" - can the day
get any worse? Now there's one thing that this movie can't
deny, and that's that its makers have seen Pulp Fiction, and have
taken the whole John Travolta-Samuel Jackson thing as their template. But
having said that, the film goes beyond simply idolizing Quentin Tarantino
and improvising on his ideas, it really does take off on its own after
mayve a couple of minutes and does tell a very original and enjoyably
macabre story, carried by fun dialogue, point-on performances, and a
willingness to surprise. It's lots of fun, really!
