Galactic beauty queen Miss Cosmos (Dorothy Stratten) doesn't feel safe
on a cruise ship to the stars - as she's perfect genetic material, her
genes are priceless -, and thus she requests surveillance from the Earth
Defense Counsil. Of course, they send Buck Rogers (Gil Gerard), who's to
serve as her personal bodyguard, and Wilma Deering (Erin Gray), who poses
ass a rich heiress, basically to bait whoever's going to "steal"
Miss Cosmos. Now on the ship, Buck feels somehow drawn to young and
innocent Alison (Kimberly Beck), who's trravelling with her boyfriend
Jalor (Leigh McCloskey), and who's suffering from some condition or other.
And her condition has to do more with the plot to kidnap Miss Cosmos than
Buck yet knows as apparently she shares her body (not her features though)
with Sabrina (Trisha Noble), and Sabrina and Jalor are a team of thieves,
and they have already come up with a pretty infallible scheme to snatch
the woman and escape from the cruise ship under everyone's eyes - and the
first part of their plan, the kidnapping, works without a hitch, despite
Buck's precautions. But Buck has had an idea that Alison might be the
(unaware) host to Sabrina, so he has three sonic guns shipped up from
earth, and with them, he, Wilma and robot Twiki (Felix Silla, voiced by
Mel Blanc) drive Sabrina into a laser net, force her to turn back into
Alison, and with the help of Alison they save Miss Cosmos. In a subplot,
robot Twiki finds his female counterpart, Tina (Patty Maloney), and the
two have a romantic relationship - which comes across as even sillier than
it sounds. One of the hokier episodes of the series, as this
one goes full Love Boat and as such can't evade soap
operatic moments, with Buck largely reduced to trouble solver. And the
finale, in which Buck, Wilma and Twiki pretty much literally net Sabrina
using sonic guns comes across as anti-climactic and looks rather silly -
though in a way hilariously so. In all, a lesser episode of a very uneven
series, but one with some camp value at least.
