A bunch of gangsters have stolen the Maharajah's crown jewel, & to
smuggle it into the US, they have deviced the plan of hiding it inside a salmon
before it swims upstream ... & 2 of the gang are left with the task of
retrieving the salmon from bear creek. The only problem, they have not the
slightest idea about fishing, the solution: They hire sporting goods store
clerk, who seems competent enough, to catch the fish for them. Only once on
Bear Creek, it turns out Buster knows little about fishing, but everything
about getting into situations to fall nto the water. Rather unexpectedly, in
the end he manages to not only catch the fish despite of everything, but can
also knock out the gangsters (using the fish, incidently). & what does he
get as a reward ? A hug from the Maharjah. As most episodes of the Buster
Keaton Show, this one is mainly relying on Buster's old routines,
recreating them on a much slimmer budget with modest studiosets replacing
outdoor-settings ... but Buster still proves he can do slapstick with the
precision of a clockwork.
