An enemy radio was transmitting from a small Mexican town, but now it's
down - which is a problem for the secret service because now they don't
know anymore what the enemies are planning. So the secret service sends
top agent Captain Midnight (Richard Webb) and his sidekick Ikky (Sid
Melton) down to Mexico as travelling radio repairman, and in no time at
all ... they are first thrown into prison for not having a license, then
bailed out by fellow American Henry Davis (John Truax), who in return only
wants his radio repaired - and wouldn't you know it, Davis, posing as a
pottery exporter, is actually an enemy spy who uses the pottery to smuggle
radioactive material out of Mexico. But while it has taken the Captain and
Ikky little time to figure that out, Davis and his men have figured out
the true identity of the two radio repairman even quicker, and before you
know it, our heroes find themselves in a jam and end up all tied up while
the enemy agents prepare to leave the country. Luckily though, they leave
a piece of uranium behind, and it just happens that Captain Midnight
carries a lense with him that can focus uranium's radiation in a way that
it cuts loose his ropes. And once free again, nothing will stop Captain
Midnight and Ikky when it comes to stopt he baddies. Fairly
routine 1950's style TV-spy-thriller, strong on patriotic messages but a
tad weak on plot, and most of the science in this show just doesn't make
any sense. Some fun in a nostalgic way, but there are much better 1950's
shows out there.
