It's Christmas Eve, which means (at least in Italy) that the whole
larger family assembles, pretends to be in a festive mood, gets drunk and
then things start getting out of hands a little - so our teenage hero
(Pietro Orlando) has made a bet with his best friend: If he can capture
something really embarrassing, funny or sexy on his smartphone, the friend
will somehow provide him with a webcam link to sexy Canadian pinup girl
Kelly Abbass (playing herself) ... well, that shouldn't be too difficult
with a family half drunk and getting on one another's throats - but then
dad (Giovanni Pianigiani) arrives home dressed as Santa ... but he's
actually a zombie, and soon starts decimating the family. As a matter of
fact, a zombie epidemic has broken out all over the world, but since it's
Christmas (which had a few too many zombies in Santa outfits), nobody
really noticed ... and before long, our hero has lost all his family to
the undead - but then he actually gets a webcam link to Kelly Abbass, and
as unlikely as it sounds, she, living halfway across the globe and being
mostly known for baring it all, is his only hope of survival ... Now
Christmaz has by no means reinvented the zombie genre ... and to be
fair, it doesn't pretend to, instead it just tells a rather hilarious but
also pretty macabre yarn that pokes fun on everything from zombies to
Christmas to coming-of-age movies, but especially of the found footage
genre (it's filmed that way, but when the zombies start to film themselves
on their smartphones, that's just too hilarious). The result is, above
all, just a perfect party movie, especially for Christmas parties ...
