After the loss of their little girl (Medusa S), her mother (Ila
Argento) and grandmother (Mare Antoinette de Robespierre) try to find
their own ways of coping with the grief - coping that has taken on
disturbingly psychosexual undercurrents to be honest, Little do the
women know a maniac (Guerrilla Metropolitana) has already found his
way into their house, and he's not just any psycho, he's one who's
very much into raping, killing and dismembering, not necessarily in
that order. It's only after our killer has had his fun that the father
of the little girl (Archibald Kane) comes home, a man pretty sick in
his own right - so if he and the maniac face off against one another,
who will come out on top?
You might have guessed from my synopsis already, this is not your
middle-of-the-road movie, and not just because it's deeply disturbing
subject matter, but also because of its pretty nightmarish approach,
as rather than just showing the already very violent going-on,
filmmaker Guerrilla Metropolitana ever so often drifts off into
associative filmmaking, at times goes full abstract and has the thing
played out to a dialogue-free yet very unsettling soundscape that at
times appears to be (intentionally) counter-intuitive - and for
exactly that reason very fitting, That said, this is definitely not a
fit for everyone as it's, again, very disturbing and never lets up,
but if you're into films that blast the boundaries and don't even mind
about collateral damage, then definitely give this one a watch.
