Since her husband has died together with her nephew Antoine's (Jann
Halexander) parents, Antoine has pretty much become the center of
Marianne's (Maik Dorah) life, he also lives with her, and they have long
become more than just relatives, something like soulmates. Then though
Marianne falls in love with a teacher, Francois (Sandro Bassonato), a man
roughly her age, who awakens her sexual desires again. Thing is, Francois
is bisexual, and while he fees somewhat drawn to Marianne, he positively
falls for Antoine, who lets the older man seduce him, neither out of love
nor our of malice towards Marianne, but simply because he doesn't know any
better. Thanks to his psychologist, Antoine later finds the strength to
tell Marianne - which breaks her heart of course. But their bond is too
strong not to weather this storm ... A deliberately slow-moving
beautifully filmed melodrama that has its heart in the right place and
thus manages to get away with a happy ending where the genre formula would
dictate heavy drma. and the on-screen chemistry between Jan Halexander and
Maik Dorah is almost infectuous.
