Damon (Happy Dave) thinks he's the greatest director of the world - one
problem, he clearly isn't, he's just a porn-obsessed nerd whose idea of
making a good horror film it is to show lots of tits, and he isn't even
willing to pay his actresses for exposing their breasts, actresses who
grow increadingly annoyed with his directorial attitude paired with his
lack of talent and his general cheapness. But they all need their IMDb
credit, right? Anyways, when the project seems to fall apart from the
umpteenth time, enter Jeannie (Claire 'Fluff' Llewellyn), who just happens
to be an actual genie ... which is something Damon is just too
self-centered to see. However, when he says he wants tits, Jeannie sees to
it that he gets some ... or rather grows some. When he wishes some of his
actresses dead (figuratively), Jeannie sees to it that he literally gets
what he wants - and quite creatively so ... but if an
egomaniac like Damon gets everything he wants, it's not long before he
wants too much, and his wishes turn on him ... Now it might be
easy to see Director's Cut as nothing more than a dark version of I
Dream of Jeannie - and to some extent, that's totally true
even, and yet it's putting things waaay too siply, because much more than
a take on the TV show of old it's a biting "hommage" to the
black sheep of the indie horror movie world, very often hitting bull's eye
with its not always very family-friendly humour. Now add to all of this a
very ambitious cast uniformly in on the joke, and you've got yourself a
highly entertaining little film!
