By day, he's (Caspian Faye) a butcher, but by night, he is (or at least wants to be) a photographer, but that part of his career has never really taken off, and not for lack of talent, it's just good photographers are a dime a dozen ... and then he finds one of his favourite models (Nina Courson) murdered in a back alley, and he takes her back home, as due to his being a butcher he's used to being around dead meat. That said, he finds her a perfect model when dead as he can pose her exactly like he needs her to be. Only in his mind, she's also alive, and becomes something like a lover to him. Thing is, soon after he has taken in the dead girl, other (alive) models start vying for his attention, first and foremost his landlady (Emily Booth). Only who says dead models can't still be jealous?

Ok, this one's definitely not your run-of-the-mill horror film - for one it's devoid of dialogue and only features occasional sound effects, its soundtrack is disturbing at times, it's told in a hallucinatory way, resembling more a fever dream than any kind traditional storytelling, and ever so often  the whole thing gets confusing as heck - and all of this works for the film, creating a very specific, nightmarish world of its own that's hard to comprehend on the surface, but all the more rewarding once you've managed to get in - in other words, a very unusual genre ride that's also very enjoyable (if enjoyably disturbing) if you're in the right frame of mind.
