Let's face it, the marriage of Jase (Joshua Winch) and Tracy (Sheri
Davis) has seen happier years: While he participates in illigal prize
fights behind her back and against her will, she has long found (sexual)
happiness in the arms of another man (Michael Cruz) - but they do care
about their daughter Belle (Skyler Blodgett), so when she goes missing,
it's a blow to them. The unusual (demonic) circumstances of her
disappearance though have triggered different impulses in them both, while
she has taken to drinking (understandably, actually), he (who has seen her
vanish first hand) investigates into all things demonic - and soon figures
he has to make his wife the vessel for a demon to fight the demon who has
taken Belle and eventually retrieve her. But "making his wife a
vessel" means pretty much slaughtering her, and repeatedly and not in
the most decent of ways, and there's no guarantee that the demon who
possesses her likes his present stage very much and won't let his
frustration out on Jase ... Now Fall of Grace might not
be sporting an entirely original narrative - but boy, it's one creepy
movie! Sure, people might call it a low budget riff on Hellraiser
- and aren't entirely wrong, concept-wise -, but this is a movie that's
sure to deliver scares of its own making and is rich on atmosphere,
delivers on the gore sector, and is carried by strong performances. So in
a word, a film that will really freak you out!
