When she was a kid, Natalie (Emilia Wallen) was kidnapped by Bobby (Haerley Wallen), a man who before long manages to convince her he's her dad, also by treating her like she was his daughter. It of course helps that Natalie's read dad Calvin (Jerry Hayes) has never really given much of a shit about her, and knowing that Bobby manages to buld him up as the enemy who wants to rip her from the claws of her read dad - himself. Natalie's young and impressionable enough to fall for it, and for the next 15 years they live a relatvely happy life in a cabin deep in the woods, and she (as an adult played by Kaiti Wallen) doesn't even consider running away, fearing Calvin's goons are out to get her. Only of late, Natalie has had second thoughts, like when she saw her "father" kill two innocent campers (Kayden Bryce, Giovanni Arion Brown), claiming them to be spies for Calvin ...

Natalie has since gotten away from Bobby, but she has lost most of her memory in the process, and it's up to two detectives Deon Hunt, Yancey Fuqua) and a psychiatrist (Denise Emilia Sandulescu) to find out what has really happened to her - and whether Bobby's still out there trying to get her back ,,,

In pure writing, this might sound like your typical psycho thriller, but where Fathers actually succeeds while most othr films don't is in its representation of the Stockholm Syndrome, the affectation Natalie eventually feels towards her abductor is palplable here, he's not a mere monster and is played rather charmingly by Harley Wallen, while the characters actually caring about Natalie's well-being are not represented as mere knights in shining armour but as flawed beings that might not have to offer her the same that her abductor had. But what really drives the film is a pretty flawless performance by Kaiti Wallen, who really brings her character's emotional rollercoaster to life. And all of this combined makes for pretty awesome thriller cinema.
