CIA-agent Scott (Stewart Granger) is sent to Hong Kong to investigate
the smuggling operation of one Pierre Milot (Sieghardt Rupp), and at the
same time, Carol (Rosanna Schiaffino) of the CIA infiltrates Milot's gang
as his new radio engineer. In Hong Kong, Scott hooks up with his local
contact Norman (Paul Klinger), who soon enough hooks him up with a
sidekick, Smoky (Harald Juhnke), and before you know it, attempts on
Scott's life are made quite regularly. Still, he somehow manages to invite
himself over to Milot and scare him a bit. Eventually though, Milot finds
out Carol is from the CIA and makes her his captive, while Norman, who's
actually a baddie and Milot's boss, takes Scott prisoner. It all
eventually ends on a burning junk, and though Scott has managed to damage
Norman and Milot's operation it's doubtful that he will get out alive -
when the local police arrives, alarmed by Smoky and Milot's own maid
(Chitra Ratana), who was actually an undercover policewoman. And of
course, in the end, Scott gets Carol ... One film in the sheer
endless string of James
Bond rip-offs that were produced in Europe all through the
1960's - and not even one of the better ones. Actually, the film's premise
and plot hold too few actual points of interest to really engage the
viewer, the action is rather banal and any kind of out-of-the-ordinary
spectacle is sadly missing. And the fact that its script as such is rather
run-of-the-mill makes this a pretty dull movie.
