As seems to always be the case in this series, hillbillies Bo (Bo Keister) and Cephus (Scott Geiter)
spend their day guzzling beer, watching horror DVDs and talking trash (or
on case of Cephus gibberish), while making their unqualified comments on
the movies they are seeing as well as the chores their sexy cousin Lulu (Rachel Faulkner)
is doing in an assortment of even sexier outfits. The movies in question
are:
- Get off my Porch: A
man just doesn't want to by some Adventure Girl (read Girl Scout)
cookies from the sweet girls that turn out on his doorstep every hour
of the day and night.
- Divination: It seems the
spirits of the deceased are not really fond of fake mediums, either.
- Follow: Sometimes, it's good
to listen to urban myths - especially if the message is "don't
follow the light" ...
- Moderngrumble: In a
world overrun by zombies, is there space for a zombie poet?
With episode 3, the Hillbilly Horror Show is still
going strong, giving a few quite a few unusual, entertaining, scary, funny
horror indie shorts - the portion of the genre by and large neglected by
even its core audience -, center stage, and not only showing those that
might hit a tune with genre audiences for sticking to a certain formula,
but celebrating the diversity of the genre instead.
And besides the once again exquisite choice of movies, the framing
narrative is again pretty hilarious, sexy, but also short enough to not
take the spotlight away from the movies shown ...
