Sam (Erin Rovin) is locked in a tiny prison cell. She's got no idea
why, all she knows is there's a little girl (Olivia Kuttrubis) who won't
let her sleep - but nobody else can see her, least of all the psychiatrist
Dr Peters (Sam Rovin) who stops by every now and again to check up on her.
He says he wants to help her get better, but Sam's not so sure. Then she
finds two pieces of a photograph: One shows the girl and one shows her -
it's just the third part of that picture is missing, and Sam gets a note
out of nowhere that that third part will be the solution to everything ...
but once she finds it, it turns everything on its head ... Hypnophobia
is a very effective little chiller that manages to come across as a
complex mystery/drama despite being reduced to basically two sets and
three characters via good acting, effective camerawork, and an emphasis on
atmosphere over action. Plus, despite everything you expect to happen, the
solution to the whole mystery sure packs a punch. Recommended!
