Because she wants with her astronaut master/boyfriend Major Tony Nelson (Larry Hagman) more than she already is (and is jealous of his sexy secretary [Eileen O'Neill]), the beautiful genie Jeannie (Barbara Eden) joins the Air Force intending to one day become Tony's secretary herself. However, Tony, while unable to talk her out of it, at least managed to make her promise to not use her genie-powers, thinking that would discourage her before long. However, Jeannie's stubborn enough to get through basic training in one piece and without cheating ... only when it comes to determine her special talents, there aren't any - so she's tried out in any position in the Air Force, and like a natural disaster, she manages to blow any opportunity given to her, untli she lands (almost literally) on Tony's desk. But just when she's supposed he's about to leave for Nevada - but she didn't make all this way only to not be wich him, so Jeannie creates a small-scale disaster in his office to get thrown out of the Air Force again.

Judging from its plot merely, this episode is a bit far-fetched, and despite being narratively linked, the portions of the story involving Major Nelson are married to the portions of Jeannie in the Air Force rather poorly - and that said, this one is lots of fun, as Barbara Eden really shows her comic talent here, and has some really funny situations to work with.

So no, it's not perfect, but (at least if you're into the series to begin with) pretty hilarious!
