Jim has a rather unusual talent: He can walk through solid walls, or
rather phase though them. Now this has made him some good money when he
was travelling with the carnival. But then one day he has used his
abilities to prevent fraud in a mayoral election, and that convinced him
to use his abilities for a highter cause - crimefighting.
So he quit his job at the carnival and moved to a town most famous for its
own serialkiller, the North Side Slasher, and vows he won't rest until he
has tracked the villain down. And to keep a low profile he even gets a job
at the conveyor belt of the local shit factory. There's just one problem
with his plan - or rather quite a few, but first and foremost, he's just
not good at crime solving, even lacks the basic skills. Also, he's a
hopeless drunk, and while he wants to keep his special power a secret, he
can't help but spilling it to everybody in earshot. Furthermore he's
constantly out of money, and he's so bad at his job at the shit factory
he's eventually fired. So basically, as noble as his mission might be,
it's also doomed right from the start. Now I will freely admit, even
when it comes to AI-generated movies, The Incorporeal Man
isn't the most perfect of films, there are several instances that suffer
from the relatively new technologies well-known shortcomings. That said,
that ironically works for the movie rather than against it, it only
amplifies the absurdity of its plot, adds a welcomely surreal touch to
things and gives it its very unique tone. And what we're lest with then is
an utterly enjoyable tragicomedy that might be as imperfect as its
protagonist, and is great just because of it.
