This time around, the Shirunai Clan led by Taro (Shinzo Hotta) send
giant robot Monster Zorro - their goofiest looking robot so-far, it looks
like a ball with spikes (which is supposed to represent a bomb), head,
arms and legs, and on occasion it even retracts its extremeties to roll
around for a bit - to fight Gentaro (Shoji
Ishibashi), agent for Professor Tsushima, and his guardian angel,
giant robot Iron King, but as always, the two of tzhem chase away the
robot in a joint effort.
Then, Gentaro's friend, guitar-carrying Yukiko (Chieko
Morikawa), who is really an agent of the Shirunai Clan, suggests that they
all spend the night in a nearby hotel, but while Gentaro declines, his klutzy fellow agent Goro (Mitsuo Hamada), who
unbeknowest to Gentaro is really Iron
King agrees ... and before you know it, he's taken hostage by the Shirunai
Clan - but of course, Gentaro frees him, and Goro can turn into Iron King
just in time for the final showdown with Monster Zorro, wbhich he and
Gentaro of course defeat.
In between, Gentaro has accused Yukiko for being an agent of the clan
and even tied her up for a bit, but when he in the end sees her crying
over him (he was almost killed in the fight), he is convinced otherwise
(the fool) ...
Of course, this episode and the whole show are as silly and as childish
as I make them sound to be, maybe even more so, but if you are in touch
with your inner child and like men in rubber suits destroying miniature
sets as much as I do, you will probably enjoy this one nevertheless. Plus
(as mentioned above), this episode has the goofiest looking giant robot so
far, and when Monster Zorro (with retracted limbs) rolls along flattening
the countryside, that's at least worth a chuckle ...
