Cassie (Erin Stewart) is the only girl who has survived the massacre in
the original Junkbucket and is now the girlfriend of Erek (David
Rollison), the brother of her deceased boyfriend from the first movie.
Junkbucket (Ryan Miller), the penis-faced killer with a bucket on his head
in the meantime has found himself a family of castrated yet penis-obsessed
cannibals (Mike Christensen, Kate Jaeger, Brenda Joyner, Ryan Higgins, Jen
Rizor), who accept them as one of their own ... and now it's Junkbucket's
birthday, and who better to bring to the party than the girl who has
escaped and Junkbucket has taken an obvious liking to, Cassie? So Cassie
is kidnapped, and Merle (Nick Edwards) and his quartet of strippers (Sara
Coates, Mandy Price, La Petite Mort, Shawna Weber) are hired for
entertainment (and snacks) ... and things are soon to get wild and gory,
especially after Erek shows up with an underdeveloped plan to save Cassie
... Basically, Junk Bonds: The Return of Junkbucket is a
parody of The Texas
Chainsaw Massacre by way of penis jokes, so those easily offended
and horror purists who think it's sacrilege to make fun of an undisputed
classic better steer clear away ... For the rest of us though, this film
is way better than a "parody by way of penis jokes" might
suggest: Sure, some of the humour is of the gross out kind, and watching
men being castrated or their dicks toasted might not be everybody's idea
of a good time, but despite all the gross-out-ness, the film never forgets
to tell its story in a stringent way, works as a thriller as well as a
comedy, and it gets us to feel for the characters even, makes them more
than just cannon fodder (and their demises doubly shocking, and it even
shows some sympathy for Junkbucket, making him more of a tragic monster
than his maniacal family. In essence, you might find many things being
"so wrong" in this movie - but then I dare you to sit through it
without at least giggling. If this has gotten you at all
excited, you might want to check out this movie at Troma Now:
