Since her family's out of town, Lindsey (Eliza-Jane Morris) decides to
throw a party - nothing big, just a handful of people like her
on-again-off-again boyfriend Scott (Billy Chengary), her best friend
Rosetta (Lindsay Ashcroft), Scott's friend Chad (Nate Bryan), and
Rosetta's cousin Martin (Daniel Hawkes) who nobody likes. Thing is,
Lindsay's dad has bought a couple of piñatas a few days ago, and one's
still in one piece - and unfortunately that one's the killer piñata who
tries to have its revenge for everything human's have done to its kind -
and sure enough, Martin is soon enough killed without anybody even
noticing and Chad and Rosetta are killed during sex before the piñata-shopkeeper
(Joette Waters) even manages to catch up with the blasted thing that was
never for sale in the first place - but before she manages to even perform
a piñata-exorcism, she's killed, and it's up to Lindsey and Scott to take
down the killer piñata ... but how do you even do that? Ok,
this film is called Killer Piñata, so chances are when going in
you have not expected a thoughtful, thought-provoking, artsy movie about
the meaning of life, but rather a silly little genre flick - and taken as
such, the film really delivers full force. Sure, it's silly, but a)
intentionally so, and b) what did you expect reading the title? So
basically, if you take the movie for what it is and claims to be (and
maybe have a few beers with a few mates as well), you'll really be
entertained, there's silly jokes and bloody murders in all the right
places, accompanied by enough tension and suspense to keep one at the edge
of one's seat, too.
