Unintentionally, sports reporter Ray Barone (Ray Romano, in character
from his own series Everybody Loves Raymond) makes Doug
(Kevin James) lose his driving license - which is bad news of course since
Doug is a driver. Ray is inconsolable and invites Doug to a New York Jets
game, after which he lets Doug drive his car (without a license) right in
front of his own brother (Brad Garrett) - which makes Doug lose his
license even longer than originally intended. Doug's wife Carrie (Leah
Remini) already tells him Ray is bad karma for him, but Doug likes Ray so
he lets him drive him to take his driving test - which Doug passes, but
when he wants to drive home, Ray's father (Peter Boyle) crashes into
Doug's car making him hurt his neck so he can't drivwe for
God-knows-how-long ... One of the worst episodes of King
of Queens - which by itself is a great series, but unfortunately, Everybody
Loves Raymond is not, and since this episode's script goes an
extra mile to integrate Ray Romano playing his character into the
plotline, it quite simply loses credibility and seems a tad strained. The
lack of any real good gags of course doesn't help either.
