Now I have to admit, I haven't got the slightest clue what The Man
with Apple-Shaped Boxing Gloves is actually about, it's basically a
menagerie of eccentrics including (but not limited to) a woman chasing her
dog for taxes, a masked man making a hopeless effort to train for the
olympics, a young man wrapping himself up in tin foil in his dad's
basement, a guy held in a small cage in the front yard being sprayed with
insecticide, a guy who has to be bribed down from a roof he has been
sweeping as if it was the most normal thing in the world, and so on and so
forth ... But not understanding what the film's trying to say
doesn't make it any less fascinating, basically it's an absurd to surreal
excursion through small town USA, taking a look behind its white picket
fences to reveal ... well, utter weirdness that does never claim to be
authentic in the least - but more often than not it's just darn funny!
