Marcus (Walter DeShields) invites his new friend
Steve (Roberto Lombardi) to his house deep into the woods for a halloween
party - ignorant to the fact that Steve might have ulterior motives. But
then a masked man (Anthony Horton) enters, knocking out Marcus, then
threatening Steve. But Steve has brought a gun and blows the masked man's
brains out. Marcus comes to again ... but that's not a good thing, as
Steve, actually a little drug addict who can't risk being found with a
dead man - so he has to shoot Marcus as well. But the encounter with the
masked man has done something to him ...
So how did our masked villain discover his urge
for killing others in the first place? And with the mask of the killer in
his hands and two killings to his name already, how will it transform
Steve, and will it be for better or worse?
An interesting little movie (or rather anthology of shorts
shot in 2013, 2015 and 2017) that tells a complex story starting from a
little slasher-like tale with a twist at the end and then taking the
overall narrative arc into different directions. The overall result is
rather fascinating, an atmospheric three-parter carried by its
unpredictability and by strong ensemble performances alike. Definitely
worth a watch!
