It all starts out very much on the harmless side, three young friends,
Kyle, Spencer and Evan, want to go golf ball hunting in a local forest one
night. Evan doesn't totally approve of this from the get-go, but the
others think he's just chicken and only afraid of the dark or something
and even mock him with a local urban legend about a killer who kills and
hangs little boys. Of course, this behaviour does nothing to calm Evan
down, but peer pressure outweighs his fears ... and then suddenly he's
gone, and when the other two go looking for him, they get more and more
worried that there might be more to the urban legend after all ... Nightfall
Hunt might not exactly be the reinvention of the wheel - but it's a
pretty decent exercise in genre filmmaking by a group of circa 16 year
olds armed with little more than flashlights and a camera ... and it works
for what it is, a skeletal little shocker.
