It's a play's opening night, and pretty much everything goes wrond,
from the actors forgetting their lines to props breaking, from the place
not even being close to sold out to some of the audience throwing insults
at the actors during final curtain ... but hey, at least one reporter
(Bart Shatto) of a local newspaper made it backstage to cover the thing -
so there is hope for the play yet ... if only someone wouldn't kill all
the actors backstage. But that certain someone's (Alan Del Tufo) motives
and very raison d'être are not quite what anyone would suspect ... Though
playing for the most part like a traditional slasher movie, Opening
Fright is quite simply lots of fun: It rather perfectly understands
its premise (the horrendous opening night) and builds on it, it's based on
characters or at least spot-on caricatures, and it's rather expertly
paced, not only to keep the action but also keep the fun going. Seriously,
watch this, there's a good chance you might love it, too!
