There are two things that young Chaz (Izaak Bellis) really likes, and these are his toy army men and his Grandpa (Vincent Dantone). Thing is, Grandpa is getting on a bit, and Chaz's parents (James Arnold Taylor, Libby Smallbone) are afraid he might show the first signs of oncoming dementia, given he repeats the same stories from World War II (where he served preparing D-Day) again and again. There's a bully in Chaz's school, Jimmy (Grayson Stalcup) who has made it his habit to challenge kids to mudball fights in order to win their toy army men, and Chaz wants to put an end to this by challenging Jimmy to a mudball fight, his toy army against Jimmy's, to almost immediatly regret it, as Jimmy is a pretty good pitcher and his toy army outsizes Chaz's ten to one. And even when some friends (Maddox Mitchell, Tobias Alibi, Gabriella Dickenback) promise to chip in, the chances still seem slim. But hey, Grandpa, the old army fox, might have an ace or two up his sleeve ...

Now given this film's war theme, the frequent religious references seem a bit out of place at least for an European mind like mine, but one can*t but like the film's story about friendship and reconciliation that make this a rather sweet family film, and one that doesn't talk down to its kid audience and is briskly enough paced for adults to enjoy it as well.
