Bees want to conquer the earth, so they transform their queen into the
lovely human Regina (Janna Frank), who then applies for a job as
lab-assistant for famed entymologist Ben Fields (Philip Abbott) the day before
his ad for the job was even in the papers - and Fields is immediately
charmed by the young lady and employs her ... much to the dismay of his
wife (Marsha Hunt), who doesn't trust young, mysterious Regina - and
rightly so, because Regina wants Fields to be her drone, to father her
hundreds of children/invasion army.
But why on earth would beekind choose a middle-aged and slightly boring
scientist such as Fields ?
Because he has developed a machine with which bees and humans are able
to communicate, and so Regina, being human now, can still speak with her
species ...
Eventually though, Fields rejects Regina's advances, mainly because
he's a happily married man, So Regina has to kill his wife. With the wife
gone, she thinks mating season has begun, but he has seen through her
charade and knows that she is a mutant ... and thus (?) he throws her out
of a window to her death ... but she doesn't die but flies away as a bee
...
Yes, ZZZZZ is at least just as silly as the best (worst ?) of
them - episodes of Outer Limits that is -, but on the whole
the episode is so ridiculous it is almost fun - unintentional fun, I give
you that, but fun nevertheless.
