Amanda (Grace Tabron) s madly in love with her new boyfriend Vnce (Jeremiah Brennan), so it's only natural she eventually wants to introduce him to her dad, Dr. Willis (Peter Dobson). Thing is, Vince isn't the innocent guy he pretends to be but member a gang of robbers high on an experimental drug called Paralysis that makes them super violent. And he uses the "meeting her dad"-ploy only to let the rest of the gang (Juliah Cheree Taylor, Tony K Nine Bentahado, Joe Logan, DaVyne Hopkins) into the Willis residence where they are quick to gun down the doctor, then rape and kill Amanda before ransacking the place. Now Doctor Willis only survives this ordeal only by chance thanks to nurse Rachel (Stephanie Lynn Styles) stopping by and administering first aide - and when he's later questioned by detectives Marcus (Louis Mandylor) and Johnny (Michael Copon) he can only give them very little information. So doing a lot of footwork, the detectives only very gradually piece the case together, but then find all their suspects ending up dead and horribly mutilated. Who then has tortured them to death though? All the clues they come up with then lead back to Doctor Willis, but due to the injuries he had suffered in his ordeal he's the one person not physically able to have committed these gruesome murders ...

It has to be said up front, this is not a movie that's very easy to stomach, there are some torture scenes that go into quite some detail and are gruesome as can be, some killings that hit hard, and camerawork that doesn't back away from anything. That said, this is more than torture porn, as for the most part it feels more like a police procedural than anything else before in the third act becoming a rather thoughtbul meditation on justice and its limitations - a meditation with plenty of action though. And add to this a clever directorial effort that manages to walk the line between plot-driven and gratuituous violence, and a very solid cast, and you're in for a cool genre ride.
