Two weeks ago, Jeremy Pinkett has borrowed money from Brad, but
apparently he never had the intention to pay it back - even though he has
more than enough to pay up. So he and two friends come up with a scheme,
which involves one of Brad's friends going over for a gaming session and
nick the money in an unobserved moment. Great plan ... but then Jeremy's
friend Harvey comes over, too - and how do you distract two kids glued to
a videogame? Considering The Pinkett Scheme was made by
a 16 year olds director and his friends, it's a really good movie: It's
well-shot and well-edited, and it's intentionally rather mundane basic
plot is off-set by witty dialogue and fun characters, plus a musical score
lifted mostly from spaghetti Westerns that seems so hilariously out of
place here that it fits the proceedings perfectly. That said, the film as
a whole might not exactly be the re-invention of the wheel, but it shows
definite talent.
