Jocelyn (Laura Menzie) applies for a job, and the job interview is
probably the weirdest she has ever had, as she's locked into the room with
her interviewer Emma (Kate Paulsen), is attached to something resembling a
lie detector, and she's even given a safe word. But she isn't intimidated
by that, she's a strong person ... but she wants to start all over, wants
to leave her old life behind - and that's exactly what this job would
offer because she'd be cryogenically frozen for 200 years to then resume
life as part of an experiment. The interview gets more and more
personal, something which by the by starts to annoy Jocelyn especially
when Emma has her reveal more and more about her life as a lesbian.
Ultimately Jocelyn even gets up to leave, but ultimately she has to
realize Emma has some skeletons in her closet as well ... A
cleverly writen little two-character drama that has its comedic and its
heart-warming moments, but without ever becoming pure kitsch. Basically,
the film is a character study of two rewarding characters, brought to life
by two very fine performances, while the direction gets the most of the
movie's single set without resorting to spectacle. Totally worth a look!
