Alice (Jenny Curtis) considers herself a good mother - and yet she has
been institutionalized because she has killed her own daughter. And since,
she has become the laughing stock of the other patients, something she
counters with hostility one cannot even blame her for. Problem is, she's
pregnant, and everybody worries what she might do to the child. And the
other problem is, of late she has had severe nightmares that even bend her
perception of reality - something that can only lead to chaos eventually
... Genre fave Danielle Harris plays a resolute nurse. Postpartum
is quite an interesting (and very creepy) short that manages to create its
tension by never giving away too much and always leaving a lot open
to interpretation, while being rooted in a very disturbing basic idea. Now
add to that an atmosphere-heavy direction, well-set shocks and a strong
ensemble cast, and you've got yourself a pretty cool piece of horror!
