Rachel (Tatiana Borie) is a musician on the verge of her breakthrough,
and that basically means one thing, and that's almost nonstop touring. So
when she returns home, even if only for a night, she tries to spend
quality time with her friends (Sloan Pirie, Alex Leombruno, Bruce Clinton
Bradbury), which makes her see the life she has left behind might be just
as precious as the life she's living - and she discovers she might feel
more than just friendship for one of them ... In simple
narrative terms, Rooftops is about "nothing much", as in
not much is happening in this film other than a few characters talking -
but it's the slice-of-life film that really makes the movie that finds its
story between the lines, its conflict in what's left unsaid, and in this
very unassuming approach, supported by a very subtle directorial effort,
the movie finds its charm - which is of course also supported by a solid
cast.
