Roxanna (Louise Thompson) is a sexually insatiable 19-year old girl,
who doesn't even care as much if she has hetero- or homosexual sex, heck
for a time she even dates a transvestite, as long as her sex-dates are
bizarre ...
It was after an orgy that it got too much for Roxanna and she made her
first suicide attempt. Eventually, Roxanna tries to get out of her vicious
sex-circle and dates normal men, but she always feels drawn back to her
world of perversion and kinky sex, so before long, she makes no more
attempts to escape, instead she throws herself into the world of
uninhibited sex head-on.
In Trisha, Roxanna finds a perfect mate, a nymphomaniac (like her),
with whom she could play her sex-games for hours ... but Trisha eventually
left her for another woman. This time, Roxanna tries to cut her wrists to
this world for good, and if her parents hadn't found her and committed her
to an asylum, she would have succeeded, too ...
Of course, this plot is extremely feeble for a feature film (even if it
runs just 55 minutes), and of course the plot as such is little
more than an excuse to show a succession of kinky sex scenes. But to just
label Roxanna as a 1970's production line sex-flick would not do
the film justice. As often with director Nick Philips' (softcore)
sex-films, this one, despite produced on a shoestring in possibly way less
than a week, is a piece of stylish erotica that features carefully
arranged sequences, interesting camera set-ups and a rich cinematic
language one would not expect from such a film.. Also a very cynical
off-screen narration (there is no on-screen sound) and a cool music score
make this into something unique.
If 1970's erotica is at all your thing, this is a film you would
definitely not want to miss !!!
