In this one, wrestler/hero/crimefighter is also a scientist, and not a bad one at that, for he has invented a time machine (in this case a device to take a person back to his/her past life). He does show it to fellow scientist, but they scoff at him since he hasn't yet actually tried it out. Thank god for his mentor's (Carlos Agosti) daughter Noelia Noel, who is willing to be his first test subject (you see, for some reason the time machine works primarly on women). Curiously enough, she seems to have lived her past life in the 1931 adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula (the similarities to this movie are hard to overlook, though you might see glimpses of the Hammer adaptation as well), & naturally, the good count Dracula (Aldo Monti) wants to take Noelia for his vampire bride. Thankfully, just glimpses before he can do that, Santo (who has witnessed everything on a TV-screen on which to monitor the time travelling) pulls her out of her past life, back to '68. But as a proof his time machine actually worked, Santo now has to find Dracula's treasure, which means he & company (being Noelia, Agosti & comic relief Alberto Rojas) have to visit the good count's crypt to get his medaillon & ring, that would lead them to it. To bad they were followed by the Black Hood & his hoodlums, & even worse they forget the ring (!) in the crypt - which of course the Black Hood gets. Luckily, though, the Hood agrees to put the ring as a wager on a public wrestling match (!!) between Santo & his son. Santo wins & gets the ring, but the Hood still has a trick up his sleeve, & so he resurrects Dracula, who is more determined than ever to get ring & medaillon back - but settles for Noelia instead, the love he thought lost. A final confrontation in the vampire's cave ensues, with the reign of the vampire finally ended when Santo's wrestler friends blow w hole in the roof of it, having the sunlight destroy Dracula & company, while the Hood is unmasked as Roberto G.Rivera, one of the scientists who scoffed at Santo in the beginning.

One of these campy great Mexican  wrestler movies, mixing styles & influences quite deliberately, having wrestling matches, parts of Bram Stokers Dracula & time travel all packed up neatly in a wild bundle & while the script is somewhat formulaic, you still don't quite know what to expect. & if that wasn'T enough, we see Santo wearing a business suit (but still in mask), presumably to show he's a serious scientist now, & later (still in mask) we even see him wearing pyjamas & a bathrobe.

Tremendous if somewhat childish fun.

Alberto 'Caballo' Rojas, who later became a star in his own right, made his screen debut here as comic relief, but it didn't seem anybody did know how to properly use him - he being treated extremely rudely by Santo & the rest of the cast.

This movie was reedited for the foreign market & released as El Vampiro y el Sexo, with some scenes re-shot with Dracula's vampire women in the nude - they wear black robes in the Mexican version - making this one a sexploitation picture - which is kind of ironic, since in Mexico this film (as many Santo-features) was aimed primarily at the juvenile market !
