Rich client Mitchell (Colin Salmon) offers to take high class
prostitute out of a passion Belle (Billie Piper) on the next step of her
career ladder - that is, from being a simple hooker to becoming an
exclusive courtesan, a woman who has no more than 4 to 5 regular clients,
to whom she is more than the perfect lover and wife ... and who gets paid
plenty for it, including a posh appartment Mitchell gives to her just like
that. Thing is, as a courtesan, Belle soon gets incredibly bored, she
liked the rush, the adventure and the sex of being a hooker, and
eventually, she leaves her job as a courtesan (including the money and the
appartment) behind again to resume her career as a prostitute. In a
subplot, Ben (Iddo Goldberg), Belle's ex and best mate, has broken up with
his girlfriend he was going to marry in just a few weeks ... because he
more likes to hang out with Belle, even though she will never become his
girlfriend, and even though she's a prostitute and he's the only one who
knows it. He even offers to help her out in case she needs protection ...
Disappointing
finale of the first season of a series that started out quite
light-hearted, tongue-in-cheek funny and pretty sexy. But with this
episode, it has become pointless and boring, yet superficial human drama
almost devoid of erotic elements. What a pity!
