A woman receives a phonecall - that for some reason throws her totally
off track, makes her smash her entire apartment in a fit of rage, and
every time she sees a certain photograph of two kids, it breaks something
inside her - the film suggests this might be a photograph of her and her
brother. Eventually, memories well up of happier times, of her and her
brother kidding around. And ultimately, she does come to the conclusion
that to overcome her anger, she has to go to see her brother - who's lying
in bed, gravely, probably termninally ill ... but he still musters
up enough strength to turn around to face her ... Basically, A
Sister's Bond is a short mood piece, where no word is spoken, no
on-screen sound is heard, and everything is set to sad but beautiful
music. And it's the music and the intensity of the pictures and the
lyrical flow of the narration that make this film stronger than its three
minutes running time might suggest. Totally recommended!
