Entering a hut somewhere in the woods, Kang Min (Kam Woo-seong) finds his girlfriend Su-Young (Kang Kyeong-heon) & her boss Choi (Jang Hyeon-seong) brutally slaughtered. What's more, he also finds the killer is still in the hut, & gives him a chase through the woods, but is knocked out by him ...

Coming back to his senses, he soon finds himself in a tunnel ... & is run over by a car, & left to die. Fortunately another car comes by & takes him to a hospital, where he is saved from dieing but spends the next fortnight in a coma.

Waking up he asks his cop/friend Kim (Son Byung-ho)to look for the corpses in the hut, & despite Kim doesn't really believe the story of the murders, claiming it on posttraumatic stres, he finds the 2 corpses there.

Kang Min no tells him his tale, of how he after the death of his first wife Eun-ah really loost it & was a drinking wreck, until Su-young, who worked for the same tv-statin as he did, came along & accpted him as the loser he was, & soon they became a couple. However, due to his carefree attitude, Kang Min is soon fired from the station ... which finally gives hm a boost to ask Su-young to marry him, & to do the documentary about a haunted forest, the Spider Forest, he always wanted to do ...

& for his documentary on Spider Forest he even has a new clue to follow up on, sent to him by photoshop owner Kim Su-Jin (Suh Jung) who lives near the forest. But at that time Kang Min also gets weird phonecalls, & someone sends him an undeveloped roll of film ...

Kang Min then went to spider forest, & to the hut where he later found the corpses, & claims he saw them fucking, but left the scene when he noticed someone else in the woods, but hiding.

Next day he went to Su-jin's photoshop where she told him a spooky story about the forest, in which a boy & a girl witnessed the girl's father slaughtering her mother & her lover, then slaughtering the girl while the boy lost all his memory of the ncident.

When Min Kang develops the photos in Su-jin's photoshop, he realizes these were the last photos his wife had taken, & that supposedly crashed in the plane, with her ...

Only then did he go back & found Su-young killed ...

Back in the now, the police tries to check up on Min Kang's story, that proves to have inconsistencies on all corners though, as Su-jin has died, & already years ago, & against all susppicions was not killed by her fatther like in the story she told either but died from pneumonia. & the photoshop did not belong to her at all, but to Kang Min's own father ...

Kang Min has meanwhile escaped the hospital & gone to Spider Forest on his own ... only to realize it was indeed him who killed Choi & Su young in a fit of rage, but his mind has played tricks on him, mixing memories from different times to obscure the memory ...

Deliberately slow-moving thriller that is not so much relying on shock effects but on its creepy atmosphere & its overall concept that nothing is what it seems. However, every now & again, the film takes just one surprise plottwist too many for its own good, so some of the revelations that are supposed to come as a surprise have already become painfully obvious during the proceedings (e.g. that photoshop girl Su-jin is not real but only a figment of his imagination - or a ghost -, & most of all, that he himself is the killer). However that all said, it's still a entertaining & spooky film.
