Finally the day of exchange has come, and Adam (Pierre Brice) and Shem
(Gareth Thomas), fugitives from female-run planet Medusa, are to be
exchanged for earth hostages Rudi (Christian Quadflieg) and Liz (Lisa
Harrow). But when the two ships bringing all of them back to their
respective planets pass each other, they are attacked by a third spaceship
that seems to have come out of nowhere and turns out to be with the main
Medusan enemy, some cannibalistic creatures. The Medusan women piloting
the two ships en route to earth and Medusa (Judy Geeson, Christiane
Krüger) both panic because there is no aggression on Medusa, but Rudi and
Adam soon take the helm, and with nothing but their weak protective
shields and lots of courage, they chase the enemy away ... for now. A
season finale that does what it's supposed to do: Tie up all the loose
ends of the season and present the audience with a cliffhanger for season
two ... only season two never got made. Taken by its own merits, the
episode suffers from all the usual shortcomings of a season finale: The
insistance of bringing all narrative threads to an end hampers all
attempts at decent storytelling, while the acutal plot of this episode is
let down that too much is shrouded in mystery that awaist revelation at a
later date - and this date just didn't come. In all, not a total
disaster, but also not óne of the better episodes of the series.
