Saki (Yoko Minamino) is to make contact with Sekiguchi, a high ranking
member of evil organisation Seiroukai eager to defect - but when they meet
up, he gets cold feet, runs away, and as she follows, he flees atop a
parking garage and jumps off upon feeling corndered, falling to his death.
Saki of course feels devastated, feeling responsible for his death, so
much so that she hands a letter of resignation as Sukeban Deka to her
superior Nishiwaki (Keizo Kanie), which he refuses to accept. And also her
friends and sidekicks Okyo (Haruko Sagara) and Yukino (Akie Yoshizawa)
fail to succeed in lifting her spirits, even if Yukino tries to fight her
despite her temporary blindness. Then bad comes to worse when a new
student, Kazuo, is transferred to Saki's school who looks exactly like
Sekiguchi. As a result, Saki has constant nightmares about Sekiguchi's
death. Eventually, Saki confides into Kazuo, and he promises to help her
atone for her sin. In the meantime though, Okyo and Nishiwaki do some
snooping around and find out that the boy Saki saw jump to his death was
not the same boy who has hit the ground, meaning there must have been a
swap somewhere, and thus it's more than likely that Kazuo is actually a
member of Seiroukai out to kill Saki. Okyo rushes to tell Saki but finds
out she's already meeting with Kazuo at the parking garage in question,
and he persuades her to jump, which she does - in front of his and Okyo's
very eyes. But when everything seems lost, it turns out that Saki has seen
through Kazuo's ploy and used the same trick he did for a body swap, just
to force his hand. And vindicated of her guilt, she's more than happy to
dish out Kazuo's just dessert ... Not at all camp-free - e.g. a
Seiroukai-sent killer commando made up of three masked ballerinas - this
is actually one of the tenser (double-)episodes as it doesn't give away
its story too soon and holds a few surprise twists along the way. And the
reliance on vintage Japanese ghost story motives for the scenes of Saki's
guilt and nightmares adds a nice touch to things for sure.
