Saki (Yoko Minamino) has just sent her trusted yo-yo for repairs, when she
walks into a bank robbery that turns into a hostage situation, and what's
more, at the time of the robbery all girls pop band Onyanko Club were
doing a promotional stunt at the bank and are now among the hostages. Now
the girls know Saki from an earlier
episode and trust her to save them, but being unarmed she's really
little mach for three gun-wielding men. Things begin to change only when
one of the robbers accidently shoots himself in the leg, and Saki manages
to convince him that he's going to bleed to death if he doesn't get to a
hospital soon, then helps him escape - of course slipping a note into his
pocket for her mintor Nishiwaki (Keizo Kanie). Nishiwaki is quick to come
to the bank with Saki's yo-yo, and Okyo (Haruko Sagara), dressed up as
food delivery, has no problems smuggling it in. And with Saki and her
yo-ho and Okyo's marbles it's only a matter of minutes until the bank
robbers get their just desserts ... A somewhat mediocre episode
of the series, as the inherent camp factor of the Onyanko Club just sat
ill with the suspense of the story's basic premise, that Saki finds
herself powerless without her yo-yo and has to relie solely on her wits -
while guns are pretty much pointed at her. As a pure suspense piece that
would have worked very well presumably, but as it is it's a little too
much of the wrong thing.
