Tasha (Natascha Negro) is an aspiring young actress with a really
strong accent which has probably barred her from quite a few roles in her
life. But now she has found Gregorio (Chris Harper), a man whose accent
matches hers, but who tells her how to overcome it ... in a song-and-dance
routine. It works, but there's a downside to it: Gregorio is a madman and
killer who speaks to his Scotch tape he carries with him everywhere ... When
Tasha's audition takes too long, her boyfriend Ric (Reniett Ramirez), who
has been waiting outside in the car, rushes in. He and Tasha get into a
fight, Tasha makes an escape to the bathroom, and ... Gregorio suggests to
Ric to give acting a try, and he has hit a spot there, too. Soon enough,
Ric agrees to be tied up and gagged for his audition, and as soon as he's
all helpless, Gregorio checks in on Tasha ... Tasha has in the meantime
found out that Gregorio keeps a dead body in his bathroom, but she can'T
tell anyone anymore, because Gregorio is quick to cut her throat. Then he
returns to the still tied up Ric, a knife in his hand, and he tells him
Tasha "didn't fit the part so I had to cut her!" Made
as part of a shortfilm competition, this film had to meet certain
requirements: It had to be a musical and had to feature a roll of Scotch
tape in a prominent role among them. The result is sheer madness, but
madness with a twist, as despite the (intentionally) silly story and the
far-out premise, the whole thing doesn't go over-the-top but does tell a
proper short story with beginning, middle and end, no matter how mad it
gets in the process. Fun!
