Someone is stealing gold from a Californian goldmine desperately needed
to support the American economy, so the gouvernment sends in the Range
Busters - Crash Corrigan, Dusty King and Max 'Alibi' Terhune - to
investigate.
Soon enough, they find a prime suspect, Bentley (Forrest Taylor), the
foreman of the mine, but after only a little while, Bentley seems to be
too obvious a suspect to be the real culprit (plus both Corrigan and King
ahve fallen in love with his daughter Irene [Gwen Gaze]) ... while Ford
(Robert Blair), the security officer of the mine, acts a bit too helpful
towards the Range Busters to not appear suspicious ... and soon enoughthe
Range Busters not only gather evidence against Ford, they also uncover his
big plan: to break ijnto the vault of the local bank where all the gold is
stored and clean it out. However, the Range Busters lack actual proof -
until Alibi Terhune is shot in a shoot-out with Ford and pretends to have
died ... only to scare the heebiegeebies out of Ford when he's layed out
in state in the courtroom and force him into confessing everything.
Rather weak entry into the Range Busters series with way
too many improbable plottwists (like Terhune coming back from the dead)
to remain believable and a few only mildly successful attempts at comedy
that do not serve the film well ... not really worth your time.
